Several standard types of canvas are available:
- PVC-coated polyester: for protection from water, dust and certain acidic environments
- Polyurethane-coated polyester: this is the most commonly used and offers good resistance to swarf and oil. Suitable for machine tool applications
- Viton-coated glass: excellent resistance to oils, shavings, sparks, temperatue and chemicalattack
- Kevlar® polyurethane
- Aluminised polyester
