Industrial Modems: Making the integration of telemetry and control simple and seamless
The demand for remote control and low cost fault messaging systems applied to automation or remote facility management has grown rapidly. Mitsubishi Electric Europe has addressed this need through telemetry solutions based on a range of powerful Industrial Modems and management software.
There are two different types of Mitsubishi Industrial Modem: Intelligent Modems (MAM) and Standard Modems (MIM). Each type has models for connection to an analog Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) or a Global System for Mobile Telecommunication (GSM).
These new Industrial Modems are designed to be flexible and easy to use offering a simple RS232, RS422 or RS485 connection to the target device. Selected models even have Mitsubishi PLC protocols built in as standard making the integration of telemetry and control simple and seamless.

Embedded radio modem
The MU-2-R is an embedded radio modem operated in the 434 MHz ISM band. Dedicated commands, specially designed for wireless application, are provided for building a range of wireless system, from simple control systems to wide network systems. Using the commands, the user can concentrate on designing the application without needing to be aware of the radio protocol and control aspects. Reed-Solomon code is used for forward error correction (FEC) to maintain data integrity and provide highly reliable wireless communication. The MU-2-R meets the requirements of the European R&TTE Directive and carries the CE mark.

'Low cost' multi-channel radio modem RS232 - 433/434MHz
The ARF33 enables two-way half duplex wireless data transmission over a range of 500m.
It integrates a 10-channel radio transceiver, a digital processing unit and a wide power supply range on the same board.
It is available as an IP65 enclosure ready for approved use.
This modem uses the 433/434MHz band according to the European Directive RTTE EN300-220/EN301-489 and is approved.
Data transfer in transparent mode is performed via an RS232 serial port.
Configuration is performed by AT commands.
It covers most short-distance wireless data transmission applications, from remote meter reading type point to point

The radio modules ARM-IO 868MHz / 25mW have been designed to reply to a big demand of informations report in industrial harsh environments ( 400m) and outdoor at more than 1000m line of sight.
Fitted in a IP65 casing these modules are available in several versions: Digital (ToR), Analog (4-20mA, 0-10V), PT100 for temperature sensor, and Serial (RS232 / RS485). The ARM-IOD et –IOA can be Modbus slaves or work in mirror mode.
A very efficient sleep mode (250µA) allows to divide the consumption by 100, this way you can power the radio module with a small solar panel.
With the -LP (Low Power) version with Lithium battery, no external power is required, it can count pulses or transmit inputs states or physical values, etc... directly from the ARM-SE radio modem in Modbus / TCP or /RTU or in mirror mode with the ARM-X.

ARM-SE (Serial / Ethernet)
The ARM-SE offers an alternative to the WiFi for industrial applications which have no need for a high datarate but more for a guarantee of operation in the worst situations.
This new radio modem ARM-SE (Serial Ethernet) is compatible with the A.R.M. (Advanced Radio Modem) product range and can communicate from a serial port or from an Ethernet network with others distant radio modules (I/O modules, serial ports, Wireless LAN). It is possible to use it as a radio bridge between 2 or more Ethernet equipments (for example PLC). Its advantage is the distance it can cover with small antennas (more than 5kms Line-of-sight) and its excellent sensitivity allowing it to reach very obstructed and perturbed areas such as industrial halls, mobile machines, etc...

SATELLAR enables the building of an independent, reliable, real-time radio data communication system that meets the specific needs of the customer.
