Raytek announces the launch of its new GS110 Infrared Thermal Imaging System for Low Emissivity (Low-E) Glass. This system is specifically designed to monitor one-side coated flat glass during the tempering process. The GS110 scanns the topside of the glass and measures simultaneously the temperature on the uncoated side of the glass where the emissivity is both known and significantly higher. The measured data are transferred to the Windows-based GS110 software which is included in the GS110 system. The software automatically corrects the thermal image of the topside of the glass to provide a more accurate result. Further, the GS110 allows the user to set-up predefined recipes to accommodate frequent product changes typical in glass processes. OPC server functionality is included as an integral part of the proprietary software allowing for seamless integration of the data into other process control software packages. By quickly detecting thermal irregularities within the glass and identifying defective heating elements, the GS110 allows glass processors to improve product quality and uniformity, and to reduce scrap. The GS110 can be used for non-contact infrared temperature measurement in other secondary glass-processing applications such as bending, forming, and annealing.

FLIR i5 - A small infrared revolution
POINT, CLICK AND SEE THE HEAT
The FLIR i5 is the most compact, lightweight and easy-to-use infrared camera of its class that is currently available on the market.
All you have to do is just point and click to see the heat variations in the environment around you - and find exactly what you are looking for. No matter if you repair fuses, install windows, insulation or heating, ventilation or air conditioning systems.
See what you've been missing
The Infrared imagery is immediately and clearly visible on a full-colour display. You can save your readings as an image for later reference. The combination of advanced Infrared technology and modern digital imaging will make your building and maintenance inspections, as well as damage estimation, a lot easier.
CATCHING THE HEAT OF THE MOMENT
The FLIR i5 visualizes heat differences. Heat, or infrared radiation, is a part of the electromagnetic spectrum that is invisible to the human eye. Infrared radiation (IR) is emitted by every object above a temperature of -273°C. Every object - both living and inanimate - gives off heat as long as its temperature is above absolute zero or -273°C. That means even AC installations and ice cubes.
The human eye cannot detect infrared radiation, but an infrared camera can. It can take pictures of objects to show the amount of heat they are emitting. Such pictures consist of a map of colors that show surface temperatures of the object.
An infrared camera is thus an invaluable diagnostic tool in a variety of industries and applications, as it can detect abnormally hot or cold areas or components. In other words, you can detect problems that are not normally visible with the naked eye.
Infrared at work
Infrared cameras help many industries, sectors, companies, institutions, technicians and workmen finding what they are looking for and solving their problems. Faults, leaks, damages - anything that emits differentiated heat signatures - and in all types of situations and environments.
Our Infrared cameras are ideal to:
- Detect hidden problems
- Assess damages
- Survey moisture and leaks
- Identify energy losses and poor insulation
- Find electrical faults and overheating

In addition to X ray, UV and visible wavelengths, the infrared region is of great importance for many scientific and industrial applications. Hamamatsu offers two options for infrared imaging:
special vidicon tube technology which permit imaging to a maximum 2.2 µm
back thinned chips, using our solid state CCD technology, which permit imaging to a maximum of 1.1 µm
This ability, when combined with cooling levels and low noise characteristics allows users to detect the lowest UV light levels. Additional capabilities include:
High frame rate
IEEE 1394, RS422, LVDS and camera link frame grabber outputs
analog video output with contrast enhancement for vidicon tube cameras.

Iron and Steel Slag Detection System
The definitive infrared thermal imaging system for steel slag monitoring
When liquid steel is tapped from a basic oxygen or electric arc furnace, it is advantageous to minimise the quantity of slag carried over into the ladle.
Previously this has been done by visual observation of the tapping stream or by the use of electromagnetic induction coils mounted onto the furnace. However, neither of these methods has proved to be entirely reliable.
The LAND thermal imaging Slag Detection System SDS has been developed using LAND’s expert knowledge of the application and over 60 years of experience in the steel industry to monitor and aid control of slag carry-over from one process to another.

Infrared thermography is a powerful and non-invasive technique to monitor and diagnose the condition of buildings. Common applications for infrared in the building industry include detecting areas susceptible to mold build-up, finding badly insulated areas, supervising new constructions, finding leaks in underground pipes, planning redevelopments and many others.
The results of using infrared are often considerable energy savings, minimization of repair damage and other cost savings resulting in a rapid return on investment of the infrared camera.
To meet the specific needs of the demanding building industry FLIR Systems has teamed up with professional and experienced building inspectors and has developed the ThermaCAM™ B20. The result is an infrared camera, which has all the features that are indispens-able when doing infrared building inspections, and the necessary software to make professional inspection reports.

Unlike others, the ThermaCAM E25 is IP54 rated and therefore highly robust. It comes with a choice of lens – 9mm,
17mm or 36mm – not just one, so it can be equipped to suit the application. And with the E25, composite video
output is a standard feature.
As the E25 captures thermal images at a speed of 50 Hz – not 20 Hz – it is suitable for scanning moving targets.
The focal plane array is 160 x 120 pixels, larger than its competitors, resulting in better quality thermal images being
displayed on the camera’s large, super-bright 63.5mm LCD display. It also offers a greater choice of palettes and a
wider temperature scale; from -20ºC as standard and up to 900ºC as an option.

Infrared thermography is an effective approach to non-contact measuring of temperature distribution for a range of applications. To use this approach also in industrial process control, InfraTec offers INDU-SCAN as a modular test system based on thermographic cameras for a variety of performance ranges for stationary applications.
The thermographic camera is installed in the immediate proximity of the process to be monitored. To withstand unfavourable environmental conditions, the camera unit can be protected with a housing and an air purge unit. To cover large monitoring requirements, the camera can be mounted on a pan/tilt head. Using digital data output is an excellent pre-requisite for flawless and long-term stable processing of all pixel temperature values of the image. The image can be synchronised with the process rate. Over a connection line with varying length, if required a glass fibre transfer line, the data is passed on to the evaluation unit based on an industrial PC with a colour display.
