Model UT Ultrasonic Level Transmitter provides reliable, noncontact measurement for liquid level control in tanks and other vessels. Integral electronics generate an ultrasonic pulse which is transmitted through the air space in the tank. The pulse is reflected back to the sensor at the liquid/air interface. From the received echo, the time of flight can be calculated which is directly proportional to the distance of the liquid surface to the sensor. A continuous 4 to 20 mA output signal is generated and updated every half second. Units feature a fully adjustable zero and span, height and distance mode adjustment, lost echo LED indication, and reverse polarity protection.

The LVU1500-LP Series Two-Wire ("Four-Wire" for four wire unit), non-contact continuous level transmitter, is easy to program, can be used in hazardous locations, and offers unique stainless steel and ¾ NPT sensors. It is a great choice for sanitary, hazardous, dirty, corrosive or high purity processes. The 4 to 20 mA output is compatible with all control systems and updates quickly making the LVU1500 Series the right choice for fast filling processes.
The LVU1500 Series is plug-andplay. Digital signal processing, and automatic temperature compensation eliminates all adjustment except zero and span. Zero and span calibration is set directly in inches using digital switches and requires no power. The rugged epoxy coated aluminum enclosure survives where plastic enclosures fail.

Measurement Specialties has done pioneering work in the development of ultrasound sensing using Piezo film. Piezoelectric film ultrasound transmitters and receivers offer unique advantages for two-dimensional positioning applications such as:
- Digitizers
- Object detection
- Distance measurement
Piezo Sensor - 40kHz Digitizer Transmitter_Receiver
Description: Piezoelectric film (PVDF) ultrasound transmitter and receivers offer unique advantages for air ranging applications. Depending on the application, resonance frequency and vertical beam directivity of the transmitter and receiver can easily be customized by changing the diameter and length of the PVDF cylinder. The receiver has a very wide horizontal beam angle and it can be reduced by changing the housing design if necessary. PVDF transmitters and receivers also have very low resonance Q value of 5 and PVDF receivers have Q value of 4. This means that the rising time and the signal decay time are much faster than the conventional ceramic transmitters. This characteristic is suitable for high speed data acquisition or high speed digitizer applications. Cylindrical 40kHz PVDF transmitters exhibit omni-directional horizontal beam directivity and broad band characteristics. Cylindrical 40kHz PVDF receivers exhibit very wide horizontal beam directivity and broad band characteristics. These characteristics lend unique solutions in many applications such as two-dimensional positioning, digitizer, object detection, and distance measurement.
