APM High Shear Fluid Condition Viscosity Sensor
The APM high shear fluid condition sensor platform is a breakthrough in viscosity sensing applications. The APM fluid condition viscosity sensor is solid state with no moving parts and based on a rugged quartz crystal design. The surface of the sensor is also treated to be scratch and chemically resistant. It operates at 160MHz producing a very high shear rate in liquids. The sensor is fully immersible and can be easily configured for insertion into a myriad of processes. Unaffected by flow or vibration conditions, the APM fluid condition viscosity sensor is operable from 10 to 500 AV (acoustic viscosity). It can be operated in fluids at temperatures ranging from 0°C to +85°C and comes with a smart digital interface.

MCF Low Shear Fluid Condition Viscosity Sensor
The MCF low shear fluid condition sensor platform is the latest in development of breakthrough in viscosity sensing applications. The MCF fluid condition viscosity sensor is solid state with no moving parts and is based on a leading edge crystal design. The surface of the sensor is also treated to be scratch and chemically resistant. The sensor operates at 5.3MHz producing a very low shear rate in liquids which results in better correlation to more traditional viscosity measurement techniques. The sensor is fully immersible and can be easily configured for insertion into a myriad of processes. Unaffected by flow or vibration conditions, the MCF fluid condition viscosity sensor is operable for a wide range of fluids and especially targeted for oil condition monitoring applications. It can be operated in fluids at very wide operating temperature ranges and is available in two product packages. The first configuration, similar to the APM fluid condition sensor, comes in a square format. The second, integrates the sensor and electronics into a threaded bolt configuration (1/2 NPT and BSPT).

Applications: Direct installation into engine oil gallery, transmission housing and fuel system for lubricant and fuel quality monitoring
Industries: Transportation, General Industry
Description: The FPS2800B12C4 is a novel fluid property sensor that will directly and simultaneously measure the viscosity, density, dielectric constant and temperature of fluids. Relying on patented tuning fork technology, the sensor monitors the direct and dynamic relationship between multiple physical properties to determine the quality, condition and contaminant loading of fluids such as engine oil, fuel, transmission and brake fluid, hydraulic and gear oils, refrigerants and solvents. The multi-parametric analysis capability improves fluid characterization algorithms. The FPS provides in-line monitoring of fluids for a wide range of OEM and aftermarket installations including fluid reservoirs, process lines and pressurized high flow conduits (e.g., engine oil gallery) for applications that include on and off highway vehicles, HVAC&R, compressors, industrial equipment and turbines. A universal digital CAN J1939 compliant protocol provides easy to connect interface to main Host controller. A simple 4 pin connector allows for cost effective mounting options.
Features:
-Fully integrated, stand-alone module combines sensor and processing electronics
-Rugged construction for high pressure and high flow environments
-Proprietary corrosion and contaminant resistant coating for wetted parts
-Accurate, repeatable temperature, viscosity, density and dielectric constant
-Factory calibrated with NIST traceable fluids
-On-board microprocessor for real-time data analysis with 5, 12 or 24 Volts supply
-Highly reliable and long term stability
-Digital output as per J1939, CAN2.0B standard or CAN 2.0A featuring high-resolution parameter readings
