Many workers are exposed daily to occupational vibration. Extended exposure of individuals to vibration levels generates vascular and neurological disorders and repetitive strain injury to upper limbs (hand-arm vibration) or back pain and degenerative spinal injury (whole-body vibration).
In order to monitor the health of individuals exposed to vibration as part of their professional activity, ACOEM has designed the Vib008 dosimeter / exposure meter.
Light, robust and compact, Vib008 is the adequate instrument for the measurement of vibration transmitted to the hands and arms and to the whole body, according to European Directive 2002/44/EC (regulation relative to the protection of workers against the exposure to vibration). Very simple to use, Vib008 is driven remotely by the user with a wireless remote control of the Pocket PC type. Measurement configurations (hand-arm vibration and whole-body vibration), acquisitions and data collections are achieved without disturbing the workers' tasks.
With an operating life of 20 hours in continuous use, Vib008 can simultaneously:
* Measure X, Y and Z vibration levels, as well as daily exposure A(8)
* Record the signal and 1/3 octave spectrum
* Detect presence and trigger the associated warning light.
