Cylindrical sightglass
A glass cylinder is fitted between flanges, with gaskets and studs.The studs make sure that a defined preload is obtained for both the gasket and the glass cylinder. A plastic anti-shatter feature is used to meet the requirements of best possible view and best-practice protection from broken glass. As an alternative, a conventional anti-shatter feature of metal may be used.
In-line sightglass
A resistance-glass pane is fitted to a male part with welding end, using two gaskets and one nut.
The glass material is borosilicate which provides high strength and a high temperature resistance.
