OverviewHard, smooth surface with improved resistance to salt corrosion, moisture and bacteria. Waterproof, lightweight, does not splinter, termite proof, fire resistant (UL‑94 V0, 5V). Suitable as an alternative to wood; panels can be cut, machined, nailed, glued, screwed and finished with primer or paint. 100% recyclable.
PLASTICWOOD extrusion linesOur PLASTICWOOD extrusion lines produce low‑density (0.5–0.7 g/cm3) semifoamed PVC boards and Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) boards. The boards combine natural wood appearance with thermoplastic advantages:
- insensitivity to atmospheric agents
- waterproof
- UV resistance
- fire resistance
- termite proof
- mass colouring
Production processExtrusion starts from a PVC compound or a WPC mixture with chemical foaming agents homogenized in a turbo‑mixer. The blend is fed to a twin‑screw extruder and passes through a flat T‑die designed to ensure homogeneous foaming across thickness and width. After the T‑die the PLASTICWOOD process follows two production routes: CALENDERING (FREEFOAM) and CALIBRATING (CELUKA).
PLASTICWOOD CALENDERING system (FREEFOAM)After the T‑die the board enters a 4‑roll pre‑cooling unit and a 3‑roll vertical calender. A cooling‑rolls system stabilizes the foamed board, which is then cut at predefined lengths by a circular saw. Main features of boards from the CALENDERING system:
- high quality surface finish for printing & finishing
- thickness range: 3 mm – 25 mm
These boards are particularly suitable for advertising and display applications.
PLASTICWOOD CALIBRATING system (CELUKA)After the T‑die the board enters a calibrating and cooling unit that uses cool water and vacuum to calibrate thickness up to 30 mm. An annealing oven stabilizes the foamed board before cutting. Main features of boards from the CALIBRATING system:
- high impact surface strength
- thickness range: 3 mm – 30 mm
These boards are particularly suitable for building, joinery and furnishings.
