Description

The Opening Drill® is an extremely effective tool designed to enlarge existing holes, eliminating the need for multiple boring passes. Adjustable cartridges cover a wide range of diameters reducing inventory cost. Advantages Opens an existing hole in a single operation allowing for large amounts of material removal while ignoring core shifts up to 1/8" (3.175mm) Ideal on low horsepower machines while maintaining high penetration rates Multi-insert design reduces chip size for easy chip evacuation Can be used in rough boring operations Suitable for use in lathes and mills Diameter adjustment reduces inventory and cost Features Replaceable and adjustable cartridges Indexable inserts available in AM300® and AM200® coatings as well as high rake and general purpose geometries Coolant through Integral shanks available for increased rigidity
