Description

Product Overview
The PAC1761 is a single-channel 65 V full-scale power, voltage and current monitor integrating a bus voltage monitor and a current-sense amplifier feeding a single 12-bit ADC. It supports high-side and low-side current sensing, on-chip power calculation and a 32-bit accumulator for long-term energy monitoring with integration periods up to one year or longer. Measurement results and status registers are available to a host via SMBus/I2C and the device provides alert outputs for over/undervoltage, overcurrent or overpower conditions.

Key Features
  • Single-channel power, voltage and current monitoring (high-side or low-side)
  • Single 12-bit ADC for sense current and voltage
  • VBUS full-scale range 0–65 V
  • Sense range 100 mV FS (configurable to 50 mV) via external shunt
  • On-chip 32-bit accumulated power for energy measurement; optional coulomb-counting (VSENSE accumulation)
  • Programmable sampling rates: 8, 64, 256, 1024, 4096, 8192
  • Real-time auto-calibration to minimize offset errors
  • Approximately 1% power measurement accuracy across wide dynamic range

Interfaces and Operation
  • Supply voltage: 2.7 V to 5.5 V (I/O and SMBus/I2C tolerant to 1.62 V–5.5 V)
  • I2C/SMBus compatible interface (I2C Fast Mode Plus 1 Mbps); SMBus 3.1 and High Speed Mode (3.4 Mbps) supported
  • Up to two alert outputs for fault signaling (over/undervoltage, overcurrent, overpower)
  • Sampling and integration periods configurable via SMBus/I2C; one-shot and other controls supported

On-chip measurement and control
  • Built-in adjustable averaging for low-noise, high-resolution results
  • Registers store bus voltage, sense resistor voltage and accumulated proportional power for host retrieval
  • Configurable sampling modes, one-shot measurements and programmable energy integration via SMBus/I2C
