Overview
The EQCO5X31 is a fully qualified single-chip USB 3.2 Gen 1 (SuperSpeed) reclocker/redriver designed for industrial and commercial applications. It integrates equalizer, driver and reclocker functions (5 Gbps data rate) with EyeOpen™ and MarginLink™ technologies to extend reliable USB 3.2 SuperSpeed signal reach up to 16 m and to support combined USB 2.0/USB 3.2 operation up to 5 m when necessary. The device performs auto-adaptive equalization, reference-less CDR (clock-data recovery) and re-drive of the cleaned signal. When placed in series as repeaters, multiple EQCO5X31 devices can be used to extend link reach while restoring signal integrity at each stage.

Detailed operation
The EQCO5X31 receives a high-speed differential pair from a cable or PCB trace, the auto-adaptive equalizer compensates for frequency-dependent losses, the reference-less CDR retimes the signal to remove accumulated jitter and a cable driver launches the restored signal onto the next cable or PCB trace. In series as repeaters, each device restores signal integrity at every link segment.
