OverviewThe MCP16503 is a highly integrated power management IC (PMIC) designed for embedded MPU applications requiring Dynamic Voltage Scaling (DVS). It combines four DC‑DC Buck regulators and two auxiliary LDOs with flexible start-up and runtime configuration via resistor selection and a 1 MHz I2C interface. Buck channels support up to 1 A each and 100% duty cycle; two 300 mA LDOs are available for sensitive analog domains. Built-in sequencing, low-power modes and fault protections simplify MPU power management and platform migration.
Features- Input voltage range: 2.7 V to 5.5 V
- Resistor-selectable default start-up voltages; full adjustment via 1 MHz I2C
- Four Buck outputs, 1 A each, 100% maximum duty cycle
- Buck PWM operation up to 2 MHz; I2C-selectable ±16.5% frequency displacement
- ±1% voltage accuracy for DDR (Buck2), Core (Buck3) and CPU (Buck4)
- Low-noise FPWM and low-IQ modes for light-load efficiency
- Two 300 mA auxiliary LDOs for analog supplies
- Built-in channel sequencing, safe start-up and active discharge resistors
