Overview
Assembly lines are combinations of individual assembly workplaces or work areas that map successive assembly and process steps in production. Operators assemble single parts, product sections or subassemblies in successive steps. Assembly lines structure production, connect operators and machines and support lean concepts such as one-piece flow.

Benefits of modular assembly lines
Modular assembly lines can be expanded as output increases and combined with flow racks, roller/conveyor systems or mobile robots to ensure seamless material supply and a high degree of automation. Benefits include reduced throughput times, increased productivity and the possibility to implement one‑piece flow for continuous production and fast reaction to errors.

Components of a modular assembly line
Modular pipe and square systems form the basis for flexible and mobile assembly lines. In combination with panels, LED workstation lighting and lifting systems, ergonomically optimized workstations and complete lines are realised. Additional accessories support tool provision and information display.

BEEVisio (3D software) provides direct access to individual components for planning and enables fast design of tailored assembly solutions.

Planning considerations (high-level)

• Integrate material supply (docking racking solutions and infeed sections to reduce walking distances).
• Integrate roller tracks (UR roller tracks for guided movement and heavy loads).
• Consider mobile assembly lines using castors for relocation without dismantling.
• Choose adapted work surfaces (soft plastic, rubber, stainless‑steel covering or ESD‑conductive panels depending on the application).
