Description

The GEO 500 is a compact drilling rig specifically developed for geothermal and water well drilling applications based on down-the-hole hammer (DTH) drilling techniques. Thanks to the articulation of the mast, it can also be used for horizontal drilling for the installation of underground pipelines. Optimized for high-efficiency geothermal borehole drilling in hard rock formations, the GEO 500 combines small footprint, excellent mobility and advanced technical features tailored to energy well applications. To ensure improved adaptability on uneven terrain and in off-road working conditions, the GEO 500 comes as standard with an oscillating crawler undercarriage. The rig can be equipped with application-specific accessories including Odex cuttings diverters, working table with double sliding keys and integrated welder/generator units to support efficient casing advancement and drilling operations. The rig can also be equipped with the Comacchio radio remote control system for enhanced safety and operational flexibility. Designed as a compact and cost-effective solution for geothermal contractors adopting Scandinavian-style DTH drilling methods, the GEO 500 ensures the highest level of operational efficiency in this specific application. This translates into reduced drilling time and lower operating costs, making the rig particularly well suited for residential and small-to-medium geothermal drilling projects.
