Val-U-ACt is a spring-return actuator manufactured by Compact. It has a heavy duty double acting ball valve system with valve sizes from ¼” to 3”. The actuator can operate within loads of 40 in.lbs up to 800 in.lbs. The device is a spring return operator made by bolting a spring return unit to a double-acting Val-U-Act operator. A clock-type spring that is pretensioned to half the operator torque affects the return movement. The torque stays below 20% over the rotation due to a high amount of pretension. The spring returns can be installed and adjusted. It contains a worm drive adjustment for setting or modifying spring pretension. A socket key is inserted at worm end, and is used to adjust pretension apt to the operating condition.
