Description

The Morse Torque Limiter functions as a protective tool that restricts torque transported in a drive system. It is used by slipping when the torque requirement exceeds a preset value as an effect of shock loads. This unit is capable of automatically re-engaging when the overload torque has been passed. The apparatus can also avoid machine wear, and reduces costly breakdown time. The limiter utilizes spring loaded friction surfaces for the application; slip torque is preset by adjustment of the spring force. The tool may be used together with a sprocket, gear, sheave, or flange, as the center member clamped between two friction facings. The unit comes complete with a selection of especially machined platewheels, and shaft to shaft couplings.
