In very tough applications f.e crushers, belt should be additionally protected against ripping/cutting and heavy impact. The suitable belt for such applications is the heavy straight wrap EP belt. Its ability is much better than a multiply belt, due to its unique carcass construction implementing innovative fabric weave. The belt carcass consists of thick twisted polyester cables between two textile weft cables, made of thick twisted polyamide, all connected with small yarns. Although very high ply tensile strengths can be achieved, thanks to the thin and single layer structure of the carcass, belt can run over smaller pulley diameters with optimum troughability, allowing also thicker covers to be used resulting to an extended belt life. In order to increase impact resistant further, 2 plies of straight warp EP fabrics can be used, bonded with an interplay rubber layer between. Following similar principle, belt can be equipped with solid woven carcass made of polyester yarns in the warp direction for low elongation and polyamide yarns in weft for goof belt flexibility. The carcass is covered with cotton yarns in wrap direction which makes the belt resistant to impacts, ripping and edge damages.
