The EIDE FPC safety brake is a key component in the construction industry and in other sectors where rack-and-pinion, chain, or cable lifting systems are used for heavy loads or platforms.
Its main function is to quickly and safely stop the fall of loads or lifting platforms when the normal working speed is exceeded.
When does it activate?
The FPC automatically engages when the descent speed exceeds between 30% and 50% of the nominal speed of the application.
Using centrifugal force, the brake shaft is blocked, which in turn stops the transmission of the structure.
The stop is executed in a progressive and cushioned way, ensuring safety and avoiding sudden impacts.
Automatic Reset
After activation, the FPC brake can be automatically reset by raising the platform a few centimetres in the opposite direction of the lock.
This allows work to resume immediately without manual intervention.
