The NEF Air Clutch – Brake is a compact unit with a pneumatic clutch and an antagonistic brake by reaction of springs. The drive cylinder is fed radially with compressed air at a nominal pressure of 5.5 bar.
Air consumption is minimal and the chamber is equipped with chrome and polished sleeves, obtaining optimum performance.
The conductive part is incorporated into the assembly by means of 2 bearings, it has a cylindrical area with axial threaded holes to facilitate the incorporation of a pinion or pulley or an elastic coupling for adaptation between 2 axes in line.
You can see the assembly of the construction in the technical sheet.
By properly regulating the air pressure, we will obtain control over the acceleration time of the machine and also a limitation of the torque transmitted with the corresponding safety for the rest of the mechanism.
For a quick response, it is convenient to mount the solenoid valve directly on the body of the clutch-brake, which makes it possible to eliminate the quick exhaust valve.
The use of solenoid valves of the same size as that indicated in dimension K, ensure good performance.
The usual mounting is through a pulley, chain disc or drive sprocket to a driven shaft. The brake is applied to the driven shaft.
Characteristics:
Self-supporting
Without rotating air intake
Ability to regulate torque through air pressure
The NEF air clutch – brake can be used for different types of machinery, such as:
Packaging machines
Machine tool
Textile industry
Cable industry
