OverviewElectromagnetic powder brake designed for precise web tension control in unwinding and rewinding processes. Torque is regulated by the attraction and release of magnetic particles, enabling fine adjustment across a wide range of roll diameters. Integration of sensors and control electronics allows automation of tension management from large to small rolls.
OperationThe unit requires a 24 V DC power supply. Control is via a 0–10 V input that can be driven by a manual potentiometer or by PWM-based control electronics. Sensor inputs (diameter sensors, dancers, load cells) can be processed to adjust braking torque for real-time tension regulation.
Assembly- Mounting options for cantilever (single-end) shafts.
- Mounting options for double-supported shafts.
Web tension control- Open-loop control: Adjustment is performed manually by an operator or by a sensor measuring roll diameter; there is no automatic feedback correction in real time.
- Closed-loop control: Uses feedback devices such as dancers or load cells to compare measured tension against a set reference and automatically adjust braking torque for higher process accuracy.
ApplicationsSuitable for unwinding/rewinding tasks in packaging, printing, textile, paper and other industrial processes where stable web tension is required.
