Overview
Aluminum ATEX Cabinet Cooler® Systems for continuous operation are engineered and certified to cool purged electrical enclosures in ATEX Zones 2 and 22. These systems use vortex-tube technology to generate cold air without moving parts and include a water-and-dirt filter separator and a cold air distribution kit. Continuous operation models provide constant cooling plus a positive purge while preserving enclosure integrity via a low-pressure relief valve. All units are CE compliant and maintain NEMA 4 (IP66) ratings when mounted properly.

How It Works
Compressed air enters the vortex-tube-powered Cabinet Cooler® and splits into a hot stream and a cold stream. The hot air is muffled and vented to atmosphere; the cold air is directed into the enclosure via the cold air distribution kit. This process creates cooling and maintains a positive purge so outside air does not enter the control panel. Continuous models can produce air up to 54°F (30°C) below supply temperature and under some conditions up to 16°F (-9°C) below inlet temperature.

Other Considerations

• Filtration: 5 micron automatic drain water-and-dirt filter included; use a coalescing filter when oil is present in the compressed air.
• Cold Air Distribution Kit: Flexible vinyl tubing, connectors and adhesive clips included to target circulation or hot spots.
• Humidity: Continuous operation stabilizes internal relative humidity (~45%) and prevents condensation when enclosure is sealed.
