Overview Continuous operation Hazardous Location NEMA 4 (IP66) Cabinet Cooler® Systems are engineered and UL tested and classified for use upon purged electrical enclosures found within classified areas. These systems provide constant cooling and positive purge and include a water-dirt filter separator and a cold air distribution kit. NEMA 4 (IP66) enclosures are dust-tight, oil-tight and splash resistant for indoor/outdoor service. HazLoc Cabinet Cooler® Systems utilize vortex tube technology to produce cold air with no moving parts and are CE compliant.

What is included Each continuous-operation HazLoc Cabinet Cooler® System includes the cooler (vortex-tube powered), a water-dirt filter separator (automatic drain) and a cold air distribution kit to direct airflow for circulation or onto hot spots. Thermostat-controlled systems include a solenoid valve and thermostat in addition to the cooler, distribution kit and filter.

Certifications & Hazard Classification UL classified for Division 1 environments (Class I Div 1 Groups A, B, C, D; Class II Div 1 Groups E, F, G; and Class III). CE compliant. NEMA 4 (IP66) rating ensures dust and oil tightness and splash resistance.

Mounting & Materials The Cabinet Cooler mounts through a standard electrical knockout. Side Mount Kits are available when top or side space is limited; side mount kits are constructed from Type 303 or Type 316 stainless steel for corrosive environments. NEMA 4 and 4X HazLoc units may be mounted vertically on top of the panel or on the side with the appropriate side mount kit.

How it works Compressed air enters the vortex tube powered Cabinet Cooler and is converted into hot and cold streams. Hot air is muffled and exhausted; cold air is discharged into the enclosure via the cold air distribution kit. The enclosure is cooled and kept at a slight positive pressure so outside air is not allowed to enter.

Additional Notes For continuous operating systems, relative humidity inside the enclosure stabilizes at approximately 45% with no internal condensation if the enclosure is sealed. Cabinet Cooler Systems provide a typical 54°F (30°C) temperature drop from supply air temperature at 100 PSIG supply pressure. Elevated inlet air temperature or low supply pressure will reduce cooling capacity.
