Description

Overview
With improved geometry of the inlet head, cylinder section, cones, and apex, KREBS® gMAX® hydrocyclones deliver sharper particle separation at higher capacities and with reduced maintenance. The design increases throughput at lower operating costs and enables finer separations with lower energy and equipment requirements.

Key benefits
  • Finer, sharper separations at high densities — Sharply angled upper cones and longer, angled lower cones maximise tangential velocity in the upper cyclone and extend residence time in the lower section, producing finer separations (fewer fines in the underflow and less coarse material in the overflow).
  • Fine separation with fewer cyclones — The gMAX inlet and cylindrical sections handle higher capacities, reducing the number of cyclones required for a duty and lowering capital cost.
  • Fine separation at lower pressure — Optimised geometry enables finer separations at lower operating pressure, reducing mill-circuit energy and operating costs.
  • Extended wear life — Reduced turbulence in the inlet head extends liner life; premium ceramic liners in the lower section and optimised liner options increase time between rebuilds.

Applications and offering
gMAX hydrocyclones are used across mineral processing and related industries including oil sands, power generation, chemicals and water treatment. They are supplied as individual hydrocyclones or complete multi-unit clusters including valves, piping, collectors, support structures, instrumentation and accessories. A wide range of liner and construction materials is available, including moulded urethane gMAX options.

Maintenance & service
FLS provides aftermarket support for operating hydrocyclones, including spare and wear parts, test-laboratory validation, on-site testing, and cyclone rebuild/exchange programmes to support long-term performance.
