Product overviewThe Fluke 2271A is a modular industrial pressure calibrator covering -100 kPa to 20 MPa (-15 to 3000 psi). The chassis accepts up to two pressure measurement modules (PM200 or PM500) and includes an integrated Electrical Measurement Module (EMM) with HART support for closed-loop, automated calibration of 4–20 mA devices. The modular architecture lets you buy only required ranges and add or swap modules as workload evolves.
Key features- Comprehensive pressure coverage from very low pressure to 20 MPa (3000 psi) in one instrument
- Modular design: install up to two PM200 or PM500 modules to mix ranges and accuracy classes
- EMM with 24 V dc loop power and switchable 250 Ω loop resistor for HART communications
- Optional Contamination Prevention System (CPS) for protection against liquids/particulates
- Multilingual intuitive interface, Ethernet/RS232/USB remote control
- Dual top-mounted test ports to increase throughput; vertical ports for analog gauges
Versatile pressure measurement modulesThe 2271A supports PM200 modules for economical coverage and PM500 modules for higher performance. Up to two modules snap into the front of the chassis and can be mixed to suit workflow needs. Modules use characterized silicon sensors and include anti-torque guards on the control knobs.
PM200 vs PM500 (summary)PM200 (Good)- Typical specification 0.02 % FS suitable for dial gauges, lower-accuracy transmitters or switches
- Rugged silicon sensor for faster control response
- Lower cost option for backup modules
PM500 (Better)- Highly characterized and linearized silicon sensor for economical high-accuracy measurements
- Typical measurement uncertainty 0.01 % of reading over much of the range for wide workload coverage
- More than 45 ranges available up to 20 MPa (3000 psi)
Dual test ports and reference portTop-mounted dual test ports allow two devices under test (DUTs) simultaneously to increase throughput. Vertical ports accept analog dial gauges without additional stands. Supported port types include HC20 (hand-tight, M20 support) and P3000 (backwards compatibility with P3000/P5500). A reference port for atmospheric reference is provided.
Safety featuresEach module and the main chassis include pressure relief valves. The 2271A follows Sound Engineering Practices with internal relief valves, user-settable pressure limits and an emergency abort button to protect operators and instruments.
Preventing contaminationOptional CPS maintains uni-directional flow away from the controller, provides a gravity sump and two-stage filtering to protect valves and sensors when working with media such as water, oil or gas.
Automated pressure testingCOMPASS® for Pressure software automates calibration sequences for single or multiple DUTs. The 2271A also provides a full remote interface for custom software or data acquisition systems.
