Product overviewThe Fluke 1586A Super-DAQ collects time-stamped precision temperature and electrical measurements for technicians, engineers and quality teams to verify process control, perform thermal mapping, calibrate sensors, and support R&D or troubleshooting. Measurement tables and statistics are available for all active channels and up to four channels can be plotted simultaneously on the instrument for quick on-site assessment before PC analysis.
Key features- Measures thermocouples, PRTs/RTDs, thermistors, DC voltage, DC current and resistance with up to 45 analog channels (configuration dependent).
- High metrology performance: PRTs to ±0.005 °C (with DAQ-STAQ multiplexer), typical thermocouple accuracy ~±0.5 °C, thermistor accuracy down to ±0.002 °C.
- Scan rates up to 10 channels/s for high-speed applications.
- Four operation modes: Scan, Monitor, Measure and DMM; real-time color trending for up to four channels.
- Internal non-volatile memory and USB/LAN transfer; user/administrator profiles for data protection and traceability.
- Supports automated sensor calibration sequences when interfaced with temperature sources (dry-wells, baths) and multiplexers.
Applications- Thermal mapping and temperature validation
- Process sensor calibration and laboratory/benchtop calibration of PRTs, RTDs, thermistors and thermocouples
- Production monitoring, R&D, aerospace, automotive, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and food processing applications
Operation modes and usability- Scan: sequential channel scanning based on user-defined tests
- Monitor: view a single channel while a scan runs
- Measure: record data on a single channel without a pre-configured test file
- DMM mode: front-panel channel acts as a benchtop digital multimeter for DC voltage, DC current and 2-/4-wire resistance
- Real-time graphing: plot up to four channels, with zoom and history modes for on-instrument review
Data, connectivity and security- Internal memory: ~20 MB flash for data and setups; scan RAM holds ~75,000 time-stamped readings
- USB Host (Type A) for FAT32 drives (up to 32 GB); USB Device (Type B) with SCPI for instrument control/data transfer
- LAN: Ethernet 10/100 (TCP/IP, SCPI); RS-232 (DE-9) for temperature source control and automation
- User and administrator profiles, data protection and traceability features
