Description

Overview
The 5624 is a platinum resistance thermometer (PRT) designed as a reference sensor for high‑temperature furnaces and laboratory applications. It measures from 0 °C to 1000 °C, is assembled in an alumina sheath (6.35 mm O.D., 508 mm length) and is supplied with a NIST‑traceable, NVLAP‑accredited fixed‑point calibration (0 °C to 962 °C). Fluke Calibration's proprietary sensor design provides excellent short‑term stability and low long‑term drift, and multiple termination options allow compatibility with different readouts.

Key features
  • Operating range: 0 °C to 1000 °C.
  • Representative system accuracy ~55 mK (includes short‑term stability and calibration uncertainty); calibrated accuracy examples: ±0.006 °C at 0 °C; ±0.031 °C at 660 °C; ±0.041 °C at 961 °C (k=2).
  • Short‑term stability: ±0.005 °C (typical).
  • Long‑term drift: <0.01 °C at 0 °C after 100 hours at 1000 °C.
  • Immersion requirement: <153 mm at 700 °C.
  • Sensor element: 10 Ω (Rtpw) nominal (±0.1 Ω); recommended excitation current: 1 mA.

Models and termination options
  • 5624 — base model: PRT, 10 Ω, 6.35 mm × 508 mm (alumina sheath).
  • 5624‑20‑X — probe with 2609 carrying case; X indicates termination option (A, B, D, G, J, L, M, P, S) to match various indicators/readouts.
