Description

Product summary
The 1529 Chub‑E4 is a four‑channel standards thermometer for benchtop and field calibration tasks. It reads PRTs/RTDs, thermistors and thermocouples with laboratory‑grade measurement modes, flexible input configurations, internal logging and multiple communication options.

Key features
  • Configurable four inputs: 4 PRT/thermistor, 4 thermocouple, or 2+2 mix.
  • Display up to eight user‑selected data fields per screen; save up to 10 screen layouts.
  • Internal logging up to 8,000 date‑ and time‑stamped readings; 14 selectable logging intervals.
  • Typical internal NiMH battery operation ~8 hours (without backlight); DC and AC operation supported.

Inputs
Four configurable inputs accept PRT/RTD (100 Ω, 25 Ω, 10 Ω; ITS‑90, IEC‑751/DIN, Callendar‑Van Dusen), thermistors (Steinhart‑Hart or YSI‑400) and thermocouples (B, E, J, K, N, R, S, T, Au‑Pt; C and U support via application note). PRT/thermistor channels support 2/3/4‑wire connections and use patented mini DWF connectors; thermocouples use standard or miniature connectors. Measurements may be taken simultaneously or sequentially; high‑speed mode up to 10 readings/s on one channel.

Display
33 x 127 mm backlit graphical LCD. Units selectable: °C, °F, K, Ω, KΩ, mV. Temperature resolution selectable from 0.01 to 0.0001. Any eight data fields can be displayed (statistics, probe info, T1–T2, date/time, battery level, etc.). Front‑panel menu accesses probe coefficients, sample intervals, communications and memory options.

Communications and memory
Standard RS‑232; IEEE‑488 (GPIB) optional. Internal memory stores up to 8,000 measurements with date/time stamps. Logging intervals from 0.1 s to 60 min; separate labeled log sessions supported. Optional PC software enables real‑time logging, graphical/statistical analysis and alarm events.

Power and portability
AC: 100–240 V ac, 50–60 Hz. DC: 12–16 V dc (battery charges from 14.5–16 V dc). Internal NiMH battery provides about 8 hours typical operation without backlight; charge time ~3 hours; rated ~500 cycles. Rack‑mount kit available; unit is compact for benchtop use.

Applications and accessories
Suitable for thermometer readout, calibration benches, automated calibration systems and remote data logging. Compatible accessories include reference PRTs, standard thermistors, noble‑metal thermocouples, carrying case, rack‑mount kit and serial printer.
