Flexitast is a revolutionary, innovative and the world´s first pushbutton with a unique ZBD display which is protected with unbreakable glass. Various texts or symbols can be changed and displayed dynamically. The excellent and homogenous illumination comes from a WRGB that cannot only display the whole colour spectrum, but also true white. The screen content is visible even in strong light and stays visible even without power connection. Operating temperature is from -10°C to 50°C and the degree of protection IP65 enables the application of the robust pushbutton in different areas. Mechanical lifetime is approx. 1 million switching cycles. Electrical lifetime of the display is approx. 10 years, limited by the lifetime of the LEDs, otherwise it is several decades. The outstanding function of Flexitast is, that different functions or commands can be mapped at runtime as required. Several symbols and colours are stored and changed by command from an external system, e.g. a PLC, as required. Flexitast as single button can manage up to 7 symbols or colours, in a system up to 255. In a system Flexitast is structured like a bus system and is controlled via the Flexitast gateway. Up to 30 buttons can be centrally organised with a maximum distance of 5 m between the buttons and a maximum total length of 30 m. Many other options are available when designing operating units and panels, which Schlegel can implement to meet customer-specific requirements. This offers a high degree of adaptability and allows multiple functions to be integrated into an elegant and compact design.
