General description Glass Service srl has developed an advanced electric melting furnace technology for the production of special and volatile glasses, especially where electrical melting is economically advantageous. Electric melting is particularly recommended for lead crystal production. Primary heating can be provided by tin oxide electrodes for oxidized glasses (such as lead crystal) or by molybdenum electrodes for other glass types. Distributor and forehearth heating can be provided by gas or by electricity using resistance elements, or by a combination of resistance elements and immersed electrodes.
Equipment required - Batch chargers (cold top)
- Power transformers and power circuit controls
- Control system
- Preheating and emergency burners
- Cooling system
- Electrode holders
Technical characteristics / specifications - Applications: production of special and volatile glasses; strongly recommended for lead crystal manufacturing
- Primary heating technologies: tin oxide electrodes for oxidized glasses (e.g., lead crystal); molybdenum electrodes for other glass compositions
- Distributor and forehearth heating: gas OR electric (resistance elements) OR resistance elements combined with immersed electrodes
- Typical auxiliary equipment supplied: batch chargers (cold top), power transformers and power circuit controls, control system, preheating and emergency burners, cooling system, electrode holders
