The X1-NIS-RLO/EM-04 electromagnetic relay module is designed for high-risk industries, enabling switching of safety-related circuits up to SIL 3. It provides isolation between input coils and output contacts, offering a safe normally open contact for normally energized (NE) loads. The module ensures broad compatibility with various DCS/PLC systems: dedicated internal circuitry allows for pulse testing, preventing contact and LED flicker, while providing acceptable resistance for DO cards. Line and load short/open circuit detection and load voltage monitoring with programmable limits are available when the load is off and on. Field faults are directly mirrored to the PLC DO by artificially increasing input impedance without switching relay contacts, and cumulative faults are also reported. Maintenance is simplified by a dual-position insert/extract mechanism that disconnects field devices.
