Features- This covered freight wagon is designed for transporting cold steel coils positioned in dedicated cradles.
- Coils are protected from the environment by a tarpaulin that can be rolled at both wagon ends; the tarpaulin allows 2/3 of the wagon to be opened for access.
- Loading and unloading are possible from the top and the sides using industrial cranes and lifts.
- The wagon frame conforms to the patented WS (EP 1 298 022) standard, featuring a lighter, optimized construction with a maximum payload capacity up to 100 t.
- Patented arm-operation mechanisms (222981) allow control from one side of the wagon without accessing the opposite side.
- Design complies with TSI, EN and UIC requirements and is marked for TEN GE traffic operation.
Capabilities- Cradle 1: Max. ø of coil [mm] 2,250; Min. ø of coil [mm] 1,000; Max. weight of coil [t] 36
- Cradle 2: Max. ø of coil [mm] 1,700; Min. ø of coil [mm] 800; Max. weight of coil [t] 17
- Cradle 3: Max. ø of coil [mm] 2,700; Min. ø of coil [mm] 1,000; Max. weight of coil [t] 45
- Cradle 4: Max. ø of coil [mm] 1,700; Min. ø of coil [mm] 800; Max. weight of coil [t] 17
- Cradle 5: Max. ø of coil [mm] 2,250; Min. ø of coil [mm] 1,000; Max. weight of coil [t] 36
Condition Monitoring & Tracking SystemThe wagon is fitted with an advanced condition monitoring and GPS tracking system powered by an axle generator with backup battery. Data are transmitted via GSM to an operator portal and include current weight per wheel, axle and bearing temperatures, acceleration and deceleration sensors for diagnostics (including shunting impacts) and real-time position. Seven indicator lamps on the control board display current load information.
Advantages- Reduced tare weight through optimized frame design.
- Simplified maintenance and service access.
- Integrated sensor suite delivering location, cargo status, speed and temperature data.
