MAVILOR MSS Series axial air-gap ironless-rotor DC servomotors are engineered for high-response servo drives. The axial air-gap dish armature produces a high and smooth torque-to-inertia ratio and non-cogging torque for precise low-speed velocity control. The ironless rotor design provides extremely long brush life and high efficiency. MSS motors deliver approximately a 20% increase in power-to-weight and power-to-volume ratios and a 20% increase in power rate and acceleration capability versus previous designs. Optional integrated tachometers and fail-safe holding brakes are available, and many MSS versions are roughly half the length of equivalently rated conventional motors.
