Product OverviewThe immersion ultrasonic transducer series is designed for immersion (water-coupled) NDT inspection. These probes are intended as front-end ultrasonic elements for immersion tanks, mechanized inspection systems, automated testing stations and water-coupled fixtures. Configurations support inspection of irregular geometries and a range of part sizes using appropriate fixtures such as probe holders, bubblers or water jets.
Key Features- Immersion (water-coupled) ultrasonic transducer for NDT applications.
- Acoustically matched for operation in water.
- Available focused (spherical or cylindrical) and non-focused sound fields.
- Multiple element diameters and frequency options to suit inspection requirements.
- Compatible with mechanized and automated inspection equipment.
- Model families: Z..N, Z..K, Z..M, H..N, H..K, H..M, L..N, L..K, L..M, IPS, IR.
- Custom configurations and cable options available on request (BNC, waterproof cables).
ApplicationsThis transducer series is suitable for immersion ultrasonic NDT where water is used as the coupling medium. Typical uses include thickness measurement, defect detection on parts with irregular geometry, and integration into mechanized or automated inspection lines. Large workpieces can be inspected with appropriate handling fixtures and water coupling techniques.
Focused and Non-Focused OptionsChoose between spherical focus (point/spot), cylindrical focus (line) or non-focused fields depending on inspection goals. Focused configurations require specification of focal length to position the sound concentration at the intended inspection depth.
- Spherical focus: Concentrates sound into a point or spot at a defined focal length.
- Cylindrical focus: Produces a line-shaped concentration for line-scan inspections.
- Non-focused: Broad beam for general-purpose immersion inspection.
- Focal length: Must be specified for focused probes.
