Description

The Explosion Relief Valve EVM is a reusable, flameless venting device, whichis designed for the protection of personnel and equipment in case of gasexplosions, or engine “mis-fire” or “back-fire.” In the event of an explosion, the venting device opens by lifting the valve plate, and directs the ventedexplosion through the flame arrester, preventing flames from being expelled tothe surrounding areas. The relief valve type EVM is equipped with multiple coilsprings. Immediately after the pressure event, the valve plate closes and resets. Features • ATEX and IACS certification • Optimum protection for personnel and equipment • Flameless explosion pressure relief • No shut-down required after an explosion/back-fire • Flexibility due to variable installation position • All valves are functionally tested when built Application Explosions can occur in the exhaust lines of combustion engines, aswell as in the downstream piping system, when gaseous fuels are used.Unburned gaseous fuels can enter the exhaust line from dual-fuel orgas engines, especially during start-up or fuel-mapping stages. Thetechniques of mis-fire or back-fire prevention and the use of relief valvesis a proven way to mitigate equipment damage from over-pressure andflame, and prevent injury to personnel.
