Application and Use CasesKendrion surface inductors are inductive heating elements for uniform heating of tool surfaces. Surface inductors are used in food heating, packaging machinery, and embossing processes in the graphics industry. Surface heating is contactless and reproducible.
Process EffectThe homogeneous surface energy input of surface inductors reduces the required wall thickness of heated tools. The reduced thermal mass increases process dynamics. The increased process dynamics lowers energy consumption.
Design and OperationKendrion designs surface inductors using numerical field calculation methods. The design process adapts surface inductors to the geometric and thermal requirements of the application. Surface inductors are designed for continuous process temperatures up to 250 °C and operate without water cooling. The absence of water cooling reduces infrastructure effort and increases operational reliability.
