Description

Summary
We supply durable adhesive labels for the automotive sector: resistant to oils, greases, cleaning solvents, brake fluids and thermal processes up to +200 °C while maintaining legibility. Available in VDA 4902 and AIAG formats for Tier‑1 suppliers and UL‑listed references. Intended for component identification, in-process part tracking and shipment labeling across the automotive supply chain.

Technical overview
Temperature: −40 °C to +200 °C
Standards: VDA 4902 · AIAG
Resistance: Oils · Solvents
Readability: 1D and 2D codes

Main applications
  • Traceability of components on assembly lines.
  • Identification of parts in engine compartments and high-temperature zones.
  • VDA 4902 shipment labels for Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.
  • Identification plates on bodywork and vehicle documentation.
  • Security and tamper-evident labels for critical parts.

Common materials and solutions
  • Polyester: standard material for component traceability and shipping. Resistant to oils, solvents and temperatures up to +150 °C in continuous service; printed by thermal transfer (resin ribbon); available in matt white, glossy, silver or clear.
  • High-temperature range (ARGIPRINT°): non-adhesive identification plates for engine areas and thermal treatments; construction-dependent resistance up to +500 °C; fixed by mechanical systems; permanent marking by laser or engraving.
  • Tamper-evident (Void / Security): show removal attempts ("VOID" pattern), non-transferable without visible destruction; compatible with printing of codes and application on metal, plastic and glass.

Typical conditions of use
  • Service temperatures from −40 °C to +150 °C, with spikes to +200 °C in engine zones or during thermal treatments.
  • Exposure to hydraulic fluids, fuels, solvents and brake fluids combined with pressure wash cycles.
  • Oily, galvanized, anti-corrosion treated or vulcanized rubber surfaces that hinder conventional adhesion.
  • Traceability labels required to remain with the component throughout its lifecycle (assembly, service, maintenance and end-of-life).

Technical requirements and standards
  • VDA 4902 (European) and AIAG (American) formats for shipment labels in Tier 1/Tier 2 supply chains.
  • High reliability of 1D and 2D code reading (DataMatrix, QR) after exposure to temperature, chemicals or abrasion.
  • Adhesives that maintain bond after solvent wash cycles and high-pressure water without lifting or loss of legibility.
  • Post-process legibility: labels must remain readable after washing, phosphating, painting, curing or long-term storage; pre-production verification with industrial scanners and sample testing is recommended.

Recommended materials and marking techniques
  • Polyester with permanent acrylic adhesive or high-performance adhesive for most traceability and shipping applications.
  • ARGIPRINT° range (non-adhesive) for extreme temperatures and mechanical fixing; marking by laser or engraving.
  • Resin ribbons for maximum durability of printed codes in thermal transfer.
  • Use codings compatible with EDI: VDA 4902, GS1-128, DataMatrix, PDF-417 according to market and application.

Features / Technical specifications
  • General service temperature: −40 °C to +200 °C (higher short-term spikes possible).
  • Polyester: typical range −40 °C to +150 °C; resistant to oils, solvents and abrasion.
  • ARGIPRINT°: thermal resistance up to +500 °C depending on construction; non-adhesive, mechanically fixed.
  • Supported standards: VDA 4902 (European format) and AIAG (formats B-10, container label, use of PDF-417 and DataMatrix).
  • Readable codes: 1D (Code 128, GS1-128) and 2D (DataMatrix, QR); high read reliability after industrial processes.
  • Adhesives: standard permanent acrylic and high-performance adhesives for low surface energy and oily surfaces.
  • Available materials: polyester (matt white, gloss, silver, clear), high-temperature solutions and security (Void) materials.
  • Marking: thermal transfer with resin ribbon; permanent marking by laser or engraving on non-adhesive plates.
  • Validation: sample testing and process simulation recommended before series production.
