BETA BASIS WEIGHT MEASUREMENT FOR THE PRODUCTION OF LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES
The basis weight measuring device is a high-precision, non-contact online measuring system for continuous quality monitoring in electrode production. It reliably measures the surface density (area weight) of coated electrode materials and thus enables seamless control of the coating quality in real time.
Beta radiation technology is specifically used to monitor anode coatings, ensuring uniform material distribution and contributing to process stability and cell performance. For cathode coatings, an alternative X-ray system is available, optimized for specific material properties.
Thanks to the patented Reechi technology, the system specifically recognises the edge thinning area and thin spots, which often remain undetected with conventional methods. It provides valuable data on process capability and supports the stable control of the coating process - crucial for the performance and service life of modern lithium-ion cells.
The system is designed to meet the requirements of battery cell manufacturers and can be seamlessly integrated into existing production lines.
