A direct drive motor that can output large torque in a compact volume is used to achieve both the high torque required for turning large workpieces and the high response that enables agile positioning.
High-torque table (turning & C-axis)
The turning spindle, driven by a high power motor and two-gear ranges, performs highly efficient machining of large diameter and heavy workpieces from rough machining to finishing. The C-axis can be indexed in 0.0001° indexing increments for high-accuracy machining.
