Product descriptionThe MB-S AL magnetic drum separator is a multi-drum system designed to extract ferromagnetic particles from aluminium swarf under heavy-duty conditions. It integrates three high-intensity magnetic drums and a special labyrinth seal to protect the magnetic core from dust and high process temperatures up to 300 °C. The configuration is optimised for installation at the exit of aluminium slag dryers to maximise discharged material purity.
Magnet technology and operationThe drums use high-temperature Samarium Cobalt magnets (Sm2Co17 32H) rated to 350 °C with a peak magnetic intensity of 10,500 Gauss. The first drum targets the primary removal of ferromagnetic inclusions from the swarf, while the following drums reduce aluminium carry-over in the discharged material, improving downstream product quality and reducing contamination risk.
