Description

The M-TA transformer station can be used to transmit electrical energy to supply points situated a long distance away: Building site sections that are located quite a way from the main building site and event locations situated far away from power outlets, for example. In addition, development areas in remote locations with no local grid connection and well/lighting systems in undeveloped areas or areas which are otherwise difficult to supply can be supplied with power using this station. When an M-TA transformer station is used, the possibilities of energy theory are exploited in full, which means that losses during the transmission of electrical energy decrease as the voltage used to transmit the energy increases. If a voltage of 1000 V is used, the permitted low-voltage operating voltage range as per DIN VDE 0100 is still observed. The M-TA transformer station steps the usual mains voltage up to 1000 V by means of a step-up transformer. Cables that are approved for use with a 1000 V rated voltage bridge the distance to the step-down transformer and here the voltage is stepped back down to 400 V. The distance between the transformers can be up to 3000 m. The cross-section of the cable used for transmission on the 1000 V section is a third of the cable cross-section that would be required for transmission at 400 V. The M-TA transformer station enables the cost-effective, continual, and safe transmission of power in scenarios such as those described above.
