System Overview
Metalself Srl introduces the CI Series collaborative robotic cells. This product features a 6-degree-of-freedom robotic arm. The system is designed to automate industrial welding in an advanced and safe manner. Our production workcells are "Plug & Play," ready for immediate use. The cobot works closely with the operator without the need for bulky and expensive safety fences. This significantly reduces operating costs and guarantees a very rapid return on investment. In addition to welding, the robot can be reprogrammed in just a few minutes to perform CNC machine tending (loading/unloading), palletizing, and assembly tasks.

Hardware Architecture and Welding Capabilities
The system consists of the robotic arm, an industrial control cabinet, and a touchscreen Teach Pendant equipped with an emergency stop button.
The robot's structure is built from a solid aluminum alloy and ABS plastic.
The machinery features an IP54 protection rating against dust and splashes. The standard electrical power supply is 220VAC.
The machine operates with ultra-high precision: position repeatability is guaranteed between ±0.02 mm and ±0.05 mm. The system connects directly to welding power sources (MIG/MAG, TIG, Laser). The robot automatically controls voltage and current, and manages arc ignition signals through dedicated inputs and outputs (16 digital, 4 analog).

Software and Intuitive Programming
Programming the robot is extremely simple. The software utilizes a manual "Drag-to-Teach" mode. The operator presses a button to activate zero-gravity mode, grabs the robot arm, and physically guides it through space to record the exact welding points.
The software manages linear, circular, and complex trajectory welds. It also includes highly advanced process functions:

Weaving (Swing): Triangular or crescent oscillating movements. This function is essential for executing flawless vertical-up welds.

Multi-layer Welding: The creation of overlapping weld beads to fill very deep joints.

Array Welding: Automatic repetition of the same welding program on multiple workpieces arranged in a grid on the worktable.

Cleaning Station: An automatic routine for wire cutting, torch cleaning, and anti-spatter fluid application.

The robots comply with the strict collaborative safety standards of EN ISO 13849-1 (PL d). The machine detects collisions and stops immediately to protect personnel. All joints are equipped with mechanical safety brakes.
