The Full Face Mask Flammability Tester, in accordance with EN 136 Clause 8.5 Flammability, is designed to assess the flammability performance of a full face mask exposed to a defined single flame source or six-point flame source.
EN 136 defines three classes of flame flammability performance for full face mask products.
Class 1, where the mask needs to pass a single flame source impact resistance test, and leaktightness test.
Class 2, where the mask is required to pass a six-point flame source impact test, and leaktightness test.
Class 3, where the mask has to pass the six-point flame source impact test, the resistance to thermal radiation test, and leaktightness s test.
The Full Face Mask Flammability Tester can conduct the single flame source and multi-point flame source test.
During the flammability test, the full face mask is mounted on a dummy head which can be rotated at a linear speed of 60mm/s. A single point flame is applied directly below the mask for 5 seconds. If the mask does not ignite or the flame is extinguished within 5 seconds, the mask passes the test.
In the multi-point flame test, the mask is mounted on the dummy head, the multi-point flame is applied to the mask for 5 seconds. After the applied flame is removed, if the mask does not ignite or the flame is extinguished within 5 seconds, the full face mask passes the test.
Before and after these tests, the full face mask shall meet the requirement of the leaktighness test.
Features
• The full face mask flammability tester consists of a test bench, metallic dummy & rotation device, burner & gas supply device.
