The Resistance to Molten Metal Tester, in accordance with ISO 9185, is designed to assess the heat penetration resistance performance of materials (used in the protective clothing) against large splashes of molten metal. The molten splashes can be molten aluminum, molten iron, molten cryolite, molten copper, etc. During the ISO 9185 test, the test specimen is mounted at an angle to the horizontal on a support frame, and an embossed thermoplastic PVC sensor is placed behind the test specimen to assess damage or not. A specific quantity of molten metal is poured onto the test specimen, observes during the test, and exams the PVC film after the test, if the PVC film becomes smoothing or embossing disappears, the specimen fails the test. Features • The Resistance to Molten Metal Tester consists of a heating device (induction type furnace), test frame, pouring device, high temperature sensor, and PVC film. • The test device is covered with protective shields to ensure the operator’s health and safety. • The induction type furnace can melt different types of metals, which can be heated up to 1800 degrees. • A pouring device, motor driven device, can rotate at a consistent speed. • High temperature measurement sensor, measuring range up to 1600 degrees. • PVC film, complies with ISO 9185 Annex B requirements. • The test device is controlled by PLC, and operated remotely for safety.
