The Radiant Protective Performance Test Device, in accordance with ISO 6942, is used to determine the behavior of material for heat protective clothing subjected to heat radiant.
The test is carried out on the representative single or multi-layer textiles, materials, or assemblies intended for clothing used in the protection against heat.
ISO 6942 defines two test methods for the radiant heat test.
The Radiant Protective Performance Tester meets ISO 6942 requirements and can perform Method A & Method B tests.
Features
• The Radiant Protective Performance Tester consists of a radiant heat source, sliding test platform, specimen holder, copper plate calorimeter, data acquisition system, and operation software.
• The radiant heat source consists of six Glowbar silicon carbide (SiC) heating rods, working temperature up to 1100 degrees.
• The power of heating rods is supplied by two independent circuits three rods for each.
• The power supplies of each circuit are with a voltage stabilizer for providing consist radiant heat source.
• The sample holder is on the right side of the sliding test platform, and can slide to obtain different levels of radiant heat.
• The specimen holder is stainless steel made and with thermal insulation for a precise test.
• The curved plate calorimeter complies with ISO 6942, and consists of a CNC machined curved copper plate, insulation block, and thermocouple.
• A 0.2mm copper constantan thermocouple is attached to the center of the copper plate for temperature measurement.
• Provides tensioning device to apply a force of 2N on the sample.
• Data acquisition system, used to record heat flux, temperature, and times.
