Description

FAA Oil Burner for Powerplant Fire Penetration, in accordance with FAA Fire Test Handbook Chapter 12, is designed to measure the capability of components and constructions to control the passage of fire or its effects in powerplant (engine) compartments when exposed to a high-intensity open flame generated by an oil burner. Features of FAA Oil Burner for Insulation Burn Through Resistance • The test stand is made of high-quality welded carbon steel with high temperature and corrosion-resistant black powder-coated finish. • The test sample can be vertically mounted on the stand and moved into position during the test. • Thermocouple rake, containing 7 1.6mm stainless steel insulated 22 AWG chromel-alumel (Type K) thermocouples. • The thermocouples are aligned in a row with a distance of 1 inch. • A heat flux meter(calorimeter), with the measurement range of 0 to 17 w/cm. • Water cooling device for heat flux meter. • FAA Certificated NexGen Oil Burner. • FAA Certificated Carlin 200 CRD Oil Burner (Optional). • The oil burner is installed on the rail track, movable to test position. • Provides data acquisition system, window software.
