Overview
COOL MUSCLE 3 is an integrated stepper-based motion system combining motor, driver, controller and encoder. By focusing on essential motor-control functions, it delivers a simplified, cost-efficient solution for high-precision motion control in compact industrial equipment.

Achieve servo equivalent performance using a stepper motor
Muscle's proprietary control technology eliminates common stepper drawbacks such as step-out, excessive heat, high acceleration/deceleration issues and noise, enabling performance comparable to a servo motor. The result is high-precision motion control with a simple configuration and lower system cost.

Contributes to space and wiring saving
Driver, controller and encoder are integrated into the motor rear, significantly reducing wiring and overall footprint. Recommended for desktop devices, mobile equipment and small-size machinery where control panel space is limited.

3 control types
  • Direct Type (Communication Control Type): Direct operation via RS232C serial communication. Positioning by setting position, speed and acceleration. Up to 32 Motion Data points can be stored and executed.
  • I/O Type: Up to 8 Motion Data points can be stored in CM3. Motion Data selection and execution are performed via PLC I/O signals.
  • Pulse Type: Control CM3 using pulse signals from a PLC. CM3 provides ABZ output to allow replacement without modifying existing systems.

Higher performance than servo motor
Unlike typical servos that must operate below rated continuous torque (approximately 30% of peak for continuous use), COOL MUSCLE 3 can sustain high torque during continuous operation, providing greater torque output from a smaller motor at low speed ranges.
