Product description
Indexing plungers GN 81700 are manually actuated components used to lock height adjustments, swivel arms and other movable parts on devices, machines and vehicles. They provide positive indexing and retention where controlled positioning is required.

Function and plunger pin overview
The plunger pin types KA and MA feature rounded tips (plastic-coated or brass) to reduce wear and avoid marking opposing surfaces. SB has a conical tip for centring in a receiving bore. SC has a spherical tip to pass over low edges or grooves. SD has a small chamfered flat tip for shallow detent bores. SE and SF are threaded variants (external / internal) for mounting application-specific attachments or actuating linkages.

Availability and rest position
GN 81700 indexing plungers are supplied with or without a rest position and with or without a lock nut. Rest-position versions keep the plunger pin retracted when temporary suppression of the locking function is required.

Select plunger tip material and shape according to the opposing surface and the required engagement behaviour: plastic-coated rounded tips reduce marking, brass tips provide a softer contact, hardened tips increase wear resistance, conical tips aid centring and spherical or flat tips suit special edge or shallow bore conditions.
