Double containment piping systems are among the most economical and reliable methods for protecting against corrosive or hazardous fluids leaks from primary piping. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has directed the underground transport of hazardous materials to be protected from release into the environment in its Standard 40 CFR, Part 280 & 281. Further, in accordance with the Oil Pollution Prevention regulation (40 CFR Part 112), the U.S. EPA requires specific facilities to prepare, amend, and implement Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans.
ENI-GARD™ is a double containment pipe system designed for these environmental requirements. ENI-GARD can protect against leakage from expensive environmental accidents and hazardous chemicals or materials caused by corrosive leaks from the primary carrier piping. This innovative system not only protects the environment from contamination, but also ensures compliance with all federal and state-level regulations and the safety of protecting people’s health.
The ENI-GARD system consists of a carrier pipe, a containment pipe coated with urethane or a fiberglass-reinforced polymer (FRP) outer jacket, and an optional PermAlert® cable leak detection system.
