Porvair Filtration Group has recently been awarded a substantial contract for the design and manufacture of four giant filter elements, to be used within the chemical processing industry in China.
The customer, a world leader in the supply of industrial gases, will be using these large sintered metal filters for the filtration of desiccant fines, at their brand new facility in the North of the country.
Porvair has a long history of supplying specially designed filtration equipment, for the removal of desiccant fines from molecular sieves and the subsequent protection of key downstream equipment, as used the production and processing of industrial gases.
Each of these tailor made filters has an effective filtration area of over 47m2, and measures well over 3m in length, making them the largest individual metallic filter elements ever fabricated by the company, at its New Milton Division in Hampshire.
The bespoke designs are manufactured from stainless steel throughout, and incorporate a pleated sintered metal fibre filtration media; combining the properties of excellent dirt holding capacity and a low pressure drop, with a filtration rating optimised for this particular application. The robust, fully-welded construction will also guarantee a long in-service life.
The order strengthens Porvair’s excellent long-term partnership with the client, as a key supplier of equipment used in their installations at industrial and chemical processing plants worldwide for well over 25 years.
