Product overviewThe R&S®QAT100 is an electronically steerable antenna array that generates horizontal or vertical moving radar targets without mechanical motion. With up to 2×96 individually switchable transmit antennas (with R&S®QAT-B2) it delivers high radial resolution, fast update capability and repeatable target trajectories. Its 4 GHz instantaneous RF bandwidth and support for up to 8 independent simulated objects enable realistic, densely populated scenario simulation. The optional analogue stepped delay line (R&S®QAT-B5) supports short-range echo generation directly in the frontend.
Key facts- Electronically steerable antenna array
- Flexible and highly scalable system
- High radial resolution and wide field-of-view coverage
- 4 GHz instantaneous RF bandwidth
- Stand-alone short-range echo generation with R&S®QAT-B5
Features & benefits- Scalable and flexible: Multiple R&S®QAT100 units can be combined to increase the field-of-view (FOV). Multi-instrument setups synchronize via the R&S®AREG800 dynamic radar echo generator to simulate complex ADAS scenarios. Depending on available IF-paths, scenarios with up to 8 independently moving targets can be generated.
- High speed and accuracy: Antenna spacing of 3.7 mm provides high radial resolution. Electronic switching enables simulation of very fast radial velocities with excellent reproducibility and no moving parts.
- Reduced close-range reflections: Small patch antennas and absorber-covered surface lower RCS and reduce sensor noise floor and multipath reflections. Optional shielded absorber kits further reduce interference.
- Ready for complex scenarios: With R&S®QAT-B2 the frontend supports up to 192 individually switchable transmit antennas and up to 8 completely independent targets. R&S®AREG800 automates scenario generation and antenna addressing.
- Short-range echo generation: The optional analogue stepped delay line (R&S®QAT-B5) enables echo simulation from approx. 2.3 m up to ~13 m including 0.5 m airgap; longer delays possible with external delay.
- MIMO radar compatible: R&S®QAT-B21 frontend provides 96 TX/RX pairs with 3.7 mm lateral offset, optimized for next-generation MIMO sensors.
